Ordered a bouquet for a friend's birthday and the delivery was right on time. Stems were fresh, the wrap was elegant, and the recipient sent me photos within an hour to thank me. Would order again without hesitation.
Beautiful and affordable bouquets! Singapore Florist has been my go-to for the past two years. Reliable, gorgeous arrangements, and the prices are honest. Highly recommend.
Flower boxes for the modern presentation gift
Flower boxes are the modern alternative to the traditional hand-tied bouquet. Instead of stems wrapped in paper, the flowers are arranged inside a structured box (square, round, or hat-box style) with foam or floral water at the base, ready to display directly without needing a vase. The Singapore Florist studio has been building flower boxes since the trend emerged from Korean and Japanese florists in the late 2010s, and they have grown into one of our most-ordered modern gift formats. They are popular for romantic surprise gifts, sophisticated corporate presentations, and recipients who want the flower aesthetic without the maintenance hassle of arranging stems in a vase.
The visual identity of a flower box is structured elegance. Where a hand-tied bouquet looks loose and natural, a flower box looks deliberate and curated. The box itself becomes part of the visual gift (often in cream, navy, gold, or black presentation finishes), and the flowers inside are arranged in tight density to fill the box completely. Most of our flower boxes contain roses (the most photographable flower for box presentation), but we also build boxes with mixed flowers, peonies, hydrangeas, and seasonal blooms. The recipient simply places the box on a table and enjoys the arrangement for its full vase life of 5 to 7 days.
Pricing starts at SGD 128 for the small round flower box and reaches SGD 488 for the premium oversized flower box with mixed Ecuadorian premium roses. Most orders land in the SGD 168 to SGD 248 range. Every order ships free islandwide, includes a handwritten card, and arrives same-day for orders before 12pm. For specific rose varieties in box format, see our rose collection. For modern table arrangement options, see our flower vases collection. How we keep flower boxes fresh without a visible water source
The trick to a flower box that lasts the full 5 to 7 days is hidden hydration. Each box has a layer of pre-soaked floral foam (oasis) at the base, which holds water that the stems draw from continuously. The foam is concealed under a layer of moss, preserved leaves, or decorative greenery so the recipient sees only flowers, not the water source. We pre-soak the foam for 30 minutes before assembly, then build the arrangement by inserting each stem at the correct angle and depth into the foam. The recipient gets a self-contained arrangement that needs no daily watering, just an optional small water top-up at day 3 if they want to extend the vase life. The whole presentation feels effortless, which is exactly the appeal of flower boxes versus hand-tied bouquets.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between a flower box and a hand-tied bouquet?
Hand-tied bouquets are stems wrapped in paper that need to be unwrapped and placed in a vase by the recipient. Flower boxes are pre-arranged in a structured box with hidden foam water, ready to display directly without any setup. Boxes look more deliberate and curated, bouquets look more loose and natural. Boxes are popular for modern aesthetic gifting, bouquets for traditional gifting.
How long do flowers in a box last?
5 to 7 days with the hidden foam hydration, similar to a vase arrangement. The foam holds enough water for the first 3 to 4 days, after which a small water top-up extends the life to 7 days. The recipient does not need to do anything beyond optional water top-up.
Are flower boxes more expensive than bouquets?
Roughly the same price for the same flower content, sometimes slightly higher because the box itself is part of the cost. A 12-stem rose bouquet at SGD 128 is comparable to a 12-stem rose flower box at SGD 148 (the SGD 20 difference is the box and presentation). Most customers find the modern aesthetic and effortless display worth the small premium.
Can I customise the colour palette of a flower box?
Yes. The listed flower boxes are our most-ordered combinations, but we build custom palettes regularly. Send us your colour preferences via WhatsApp and we will mock up a custom build. Custom flower boxes have a 1 to 2 day lead time.
Are flower boxes good for romantic surprise gifts?
Yes, especially for proposal-adjacent moments where you want a sophisticated visual without the obviousness of a 99-stem bouquet. A premium black or navy flower box filled with red roses lands as romantic and elegant rather than grand-gesture. For full proposal flowers see our proposal flowers collection.
