First-date flowers that will not embarrass either of you
First-date flowers are a narrow target. Too big and you come across intense. Too small and it looks like you are not trying. Too red and it feels like a Valentine's gesture on a first hello. The Singapore Florist team has been arranging first-date bouquets for Singapore singles for decades, and this collection is our curated shortlist of the ones that actually land well. Playful, proportionate, honest, and sized so the recipient can carry it home on the MRT without feeling self-conscious about the attention it draws on a crowded train.
We have a fairly strong point of view on first-date bouquets. The stem count should be 6 to 12, never more. The colour palette should be soft pastels (pink, peach, cream, lavender, yellow), never deep red or pure white. The wrap should be simple brown kraft paper or clean white, never elaborate cellophane or gold foil. The overall aesthetic should read playful and warm, never formal or grand-gesture. The test we use internally: can the recipient take a photo holding the bouquet without it looking like they are in a proposal video? If the answer is no, the bouquet is too much for a first date.
The collection reflects these rules. We lean heavily on tulips (our best-selling first-date flower by a wide margin), small rose posies with mixed pastel tones, single-stem peonies wrapped simply, small sunflower arrangements, and seasonal gerbera posies. Nothing on this page is bigger than 12 stems. Price range runs from SGD 48 for the single-stem wraps up to SGD 118 for the small mixed posies, with most first-date orders landing in the SGD 68 to SGD 88 range. Every bouquet is built the morning of delivery in our Eunos Techpark studio and ships free islandwide. If the relationship has moved past the first-date stage and you are ready for something more confident, browse our fuller rose collection or the premium rose collection. How we coordinate restaurant deliveries for first-date surprises
About 40 percent of our first-date bouquet orders are delivered directly to the restaurant instead of to the sender, so we have a specific process for this. Once you give us the restaurant name, the reservation time, and the reservation name, our driver calls the restaurant 30 minutes before the reservation to confirm the table location and the host-stand protocol. The bouquet is delivered 15 to 20 minutes before the reservation so it is waiting in the right place when your date arrives. We also offer a discreet hand-over option where the driver gives the bouquet to the maître d' with a note instead of ambushing the table directly, which most first-date senders prefer.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the right size for a first-date bouquet in Singapore?
Between 6 and 12 stems. Any smaller and it looks tentative, any larger and it reads like a Valentine's Day gift (which is a lot for a first hello). The sweet spot is a small hand-posy around 8 to 10 stems. Easy to carry, visually balanced, and not awkward in photos.
Is it appropriate to give flowers on a first date at all?
Yes, if you pick the right bouquet. A small, thoughtful posy (tulips, pastel roses, a single sunflower) is charming. A giant red rose bouquet is too intense. The key is matching the bouquet's energy to the date's energy. A coffee meet wants tulips. A first-dinner date can handle a small rose posy. We have never seen anyone turn down tulips.
Can I have the flowers delivered directly to the restaurant or meeting spot?
Yes, and we do this often for first dates. Give us the restaurant name, the reservation time, the reservation name, and we will deliver the bouquet to the host stand 15 to 20 minutes before your reservation so it is waiting when your date arrives. Add these details in the order notes at checkout.
What colour of flowers is best for a first date?
Soft pastels over bold reds. Pink, peach, cream, lavender, and yellow all work. Avoid deep red on a first date (sends a romantic-commitment signal that is probably too strong) and avoid pure white (can read as sympathy or wedding adjacent). When in doubt, a mixed pastel posy is the safest bet.
Can I order first-date flowers last minute, same day?
Yes. Same-day delivery is available for any order placed before 12pm on a working day, free of charge islandwide. For later bookings (4pm to 8pm evening date) WhatsApp us directly and we will try to accommodate an express dispatch if the studio has capacity.
