How we build vase arrangements that last 7 days without intervention

The design constraint for every piece in this collection is that the recipient should never need to touch the arrangement. That shapes how we build them. We use flower foam (oasis) inside the vase to hold each stem at a fixed angle, which means the arrangement does not slump or shift as the flowers age. We pre-condition every stem for 12 to 24 hours before arranging so the flowers arrive fully hydrated. We use stems that work well together in terms of water demand (we do not pair thirsty tulips with orchids, for example, because the tulips will drink faster and leave the orchids dry). And we add floral preservative to the water so the recipient only needs to top up the water level on day 3 without replacing it.
