Exceptional service recovery and customer care! Recently ordered a floral centrepiece for a significant milestone event, and while there was initially a hiccup, the Singapore Florist team went above and beyond to make it right.

Ordered a bouquet for a friend's birthday and the delivery was right on time. Stems were fresh, the wrap was elegant, and the recipient sent me photos within an hour to thank me. Would order again without hesitation.

Preserved and dried flower arrangements that last for months or years

Preserved and dried flowers are the long-lasting alternative to fresh cut flowers. Where fresh flowers wilt within 5 to 14 days, preserved flowers retain their colour and shape for 1 to 3 years, and dried flowers can last indefinitely as decor pieces. The Singapore Florist studio has been stocking preserved and dried flower arrangements since 2018 when the global preservation supply chain matured enough to make commercial sourcing viable. They are popular for keepsake gifts, long-distance gifting where the recipient cannot care for fresh flowers, modern home decor, and the kind of recipient who wants the flower aesthetic without the weekly maintenance.

The difference between preserved and dried matters. Preserved flowers are fresh-cut blooms treated with a glycerin-based solution that keeps the petals soft and supple while locking in colour for 1 to 3 years. Dried flowers are fresh blooms that have been hung upside-down to air-dry, becoming brittle but holding their shape and a faded version of their original colour for many years. Preserved flowers feel and look almost identical to fresh flowers up close. Dried flowers have a distinctive papery texture and a more rustic aesthetic. Both are real flowers (not silk or polyester replicas, which we have separately in our artificial flower bouquets collection).

Pricing starts at SGD 128 for the small preserved or dried bouquet and reaches SGD 488 for the premium preserved rose dome arrangements. Most orders land in the SGD 168 to SGD 248 range. Every order ships free islandwide and arrives in keepsake glass, ceramic, or wooden presentation. For preserved roses specifically, see our preserved roses collection. For artificial silk flower alternatives, see artificial flower bouquets. Read more in our guides to rose colour meanings, number of roses meaning, and how long roses last.

How preserved flowers are made and why they last so long

The preservation process starts with fresh flowers harvested at peak bloom. The stems are placed in a glycerin and food-grade dye solution, which the flower absorbs through its vascular system over 5 to 10 days. The glycerin replaces the natural water content of the petals, keeping them soft and supple instead of brittle. The dye component restores colour after the natural pigment is leached out by the glycerin. The result is a flower that looks and feels like a fresh stem but does not need water, sunlight, or care. Properly stored away from direct sunlight and extreme humidity, a preserved flower maintains its appearance for 1 to 3 years. Dried flowers, in contrast, are simply air-dried over 1 to 2 weeks in a dry shaded room and require no chemical treatment, but they become more brittle and texturally papery than preserved flowers.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between preserved and dried flowers?

Preserved flowers are treated with a glycerin solution that keeps petals soft and supple for 1 to 3 years while locking in colour. Dried flowers are simply air-dried (no chemicals) and become brittle and papery in texture, lasting indefinitely as rustic decor. Preserved looks more like fresh flowers, dried has a distinctive vintage aesthetic.

How long do preserved flowers actually last?

1 to 3 years with proper storage. Keep them out of direct sunlight (which fades the dye over years) and away from extreme humidity (which can affect glycerin content). Most customers report their preserved arrangements look beautiful for 18 months to 2 years before any visible degradation.

Are preserved flowers real or artificial?

Real. Preserved flowers are fresh-cut blooms that have been treated with a glycerin-based preservation solution. They are NOT silk or polyester replicas (those are artificial flowers, see our artificial flower bouquets collection).

Why are preserved flowers more expensive than fresh ones?

The preservation process is labour-intensive and takes 5 to 10 days per batch. Each flower is hand-selected at the perfect bloom stage, treated in glycerin solution, dried under controlled conditions, and quality-inspected before assembly. The preservation supply chain is also smaller than the fresh supply chain, which keeps wholesale prices high. Expect 3x to 5x the cost of equivalent fresh flowers.

Can I gift preserved flowers for a wedding keepsake?

Yes, preserved bridal bouquets are increasingly popular as wedding keepsakes. We can preserve your existing wedding bouquet (with 4 to 6 weeks lead time after the wedding) or create a custom preserved bouquet that mirrors your wedding florals. WhatsApp us with the details.
