Exceptional service recovery and customer care! Recently ordered a floral centrepiece for a significant milestone event, and while there was initially a hiccup, the Singapore Florist team went above and beyond to make it right.

Ordered a bouquet for a friend's birthday and the delivery was right on time. Stems were fresh, the wrap was elegant, and the recipient sent me photos within an hour to thank me. Would order again without hesitation.

Red roses, the universal symbol of love and the most-ordered colour in our studio

Red roses are the bouquet category that needs the least introduction and gets the most attention. They are the universal symbol of romantic love across nearly every culture, the default flower for Valentine's Day and proposals, and consistently the single most-ordered rose colour at the Singapore Florist studio. We have been arranging red roses since the studio was founded in 1987, and on a peak Valentine's Day we ship more red rose bouquets in 24 hours than we ship of any other flower in an entire month.

The colour symbolism is direct and unambiguous. A single red rose says "I love you". A dozen red roses says "be mine, completely". A 99-rose red bouquet says "I love you forever" (a Chinese tradition we have built thousands of bouquets for, see our 99 roses collection). Red is the colour for romantic anniversaries (especially the major milestones at 1, 5, 10, 25 years), proposals, Valentine's Day, the 520 Chinese romantic date, and apologies that need to land with full emotional weight. It is not the right colour for thank-yous, friendship gifts, or sympathy occasions, where the romantic-commitment signal would feel mismatched.

We source red roses from Ecuador for the premium tier (large 6cm heads, 7 to 10 day vase life, varietals like Explorer, Freedom, and Red Naomi) and from Cameron Highlands for the more affordable everyday tier (smaller heads, 5 to 7 day vase life). The most-ordered Ecuadorian red varietal is Explorer, known for its deep velvet petals and reliable bloom uniformity. Pricing starts at SGD 78 for the 6-stem wraps and reaches SGD 688 for the 99-stem premium Explorer bouquets. Most red rose orders land in the SGD 98 to SGD 188 range. For full rose colour palette options, browse our rose collection or read our guide to rose colours and their meanings. Read our guide to types of roses for more depth.

How we hand-arrange red rose bouquets for proposal-day photo impact

Red rose bouquets carry higher visual stakes than most other flower categories because they are almost always photographed. Proposal day photos, anniversary dinner table shots, Valentine's surprise videos, the recipient holding the bouquet on their doorstep, every red rose order is essentially a photographable moment. Our build approach reflects this. We arrange red roses in tight hand-tied spirals (rather than loose meadow-style bunches) so the bouquet reads as deliberate and dense from every camera angle. We add 5 to 10 percent darker burgundy or deep red accents within the dominant red to create subtle tonal depth that catches light better than a uniform pure-red bunch. Each stem is conditioned for 12 to 24 hours in nutrient water before arranging, and the final bouquet is wrapped fresh within two hours of dispatch. For proposal-day deliveries, we coordinate with restaurants, hotels, and parks the morning of, and we deliver 30 to 45 minutes before the planned moment so the bouquet is in position when needed.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does a red rose bouquet symbolise in Singapore?

Romantic love, deep affection, and committed partnership. Red roses are the universal symbol of romantic love across cultures, and in Singapore they are the default for Valentine's Day, proposals, anniversaries, and the 520 Chinese romantic date. They are NOT appropriate for thank-yous, friendship gifts, or sympathy occasions where the romantic signal would feel mismatched.

How many red roses should I send for my anniversary?

The traditional anniversary stem counts in Singapore Chinese culture: 12 stems (one for each month), 24 stems (one for each hour of the day), 33 stems (I love you in Chinese number symbolism), 50 stems (love forever), 99 stems (forever love, see our 99 roses collection). For first anniversaries the 12-stem bouquet is most popular. For 5+ year anniversaries the 33 or 50 stem range lands well. For milestone 10 or 25 year anniversaries, 99 stems is the grand-gesture standard.

What is the difference between Explorer and Freedom red roses?

Explorer is our most-ordered Ecuadorian red varietal, with deep velvet petals and slightly larger heads (5 to 6cm when bloomed). Freedom is a brighter, slightly more orange-red, with classic rose proportions and slightly longer vase life. Both are premium Ecuadorian stems with 7 to 10 day vase life. For Valentine's Day specifically, Explorer is the more romantic visual choice. For year-round gifting, both work equally well.

Can I order red roses for same-day proposal delivery in Singapore?

Yes if you order before 12pm and we have premium Explorer or Freedom stems in stock that morning. For guaranteed availability on a specific proposal date, order 1 to 2 days ahead. For coordinated proposal-spot deliveries (restaurant, hotel lobby, park bench), WhatsApp us with the location and timing and our driver will coordinate with the venue.

How long do red rose bouquets last in Singapore humidity?

5 to 7 days for our Cameron Highlands tier, 7 to 10 days for our premium Ecuadorian Explorer or Freedom tier. The 3-step care routine is the same as any rose bouquet: re-cut stems at a 45-degree angle, change water every 2 days, keep the vase out of direct sunlight and strong aircon.
