Exceptional service recovery and customer care! Recently ordered a floral centrepiece for a significant milestone event, and while there was initially a hiccup, the Singapore Florist team went above and beyond to make it right.

Ordered a bouquet for a friend's birthday and the delivery was right on time. Stems were fresh, the wrap was elegant, and the recipient sent me photos within an hour to thank me. Would order again without hesitation.

Tulip bouquets, the soft European bloom for romantic and modern gifts

Tulips are the soft, simple, romantic European flower that has become one of the most-ordered alternatives to roses in modern Singapore gifting. Each tulip stem has a single elegant cup-shaped bloom in vivid colours (pink, red, yellow, white, purple, orange, multi-tone) on a slender 30 to 40cm stem. The Singapore Florist studio imports tulips from Dutch growers (the world centre of tulip production) with twice-weekly shipments. They are the second most-ordered first-date flower after baby's breath, and they work brilliantly for soft romantic gestures, modern minimalist gifting, and the kind of recipient who finds traditional roses too predictable.

The visual identity of a tulip bouquet is delicate elegance. Where roses read formal and weighty, tulips read playful and unpretentious. The single-bloom-per-stem structure means the bouquet looks lighter and more airy than a rose bouquet of the same stem count. Tulips are available in nearly every colour, with the most popular Singapore orders being soft pink (the romantic default), white (modern minimalist), and yellow (friendship and warmth). For the parrot tulip variety with its dramatic ruffled petals and multi-tone colours, we stock during peak European season (March to May) on request.

Pricing starts at SGD 78 for the 6-stem tulip wrap and reaches SGD 288 for the 24-stem premium arrangement with mixed colours and presentation. Most tulip bouquet orders land in the SGD 98 to SGD 138 range. Every order ships free islandwide, includes a handwritten card, and arrives same-day for orders before 12pm if tulips are in stock that morning. Because tulips are imported and arrive on a weekly schedule, availability is occasionally limited. For year-round flower options, browse our rose collection. For specific first-date bouquets, see our first date flowers collection. Read more in our guides to rose colour meanings, number of roses meaning, and how long roses last.

How we condition imported tulips to maximise vase life in Singapore humidity

Tulips are slightly more delicate than roses and benefit significantly from careful conditioning. When the Dutch shipment arrives at our studio (typically Tuesday and Friday mornings), the stems are still tightly closed buds. We trim each stem at a 45-degree angle, strip the lower foliage, and place the stems in cool nutrient water with a small amount of flower food. Over the next 12 to 24 hours, the buds gradually open into the cup shape that makes tulips beautiful. One trick specific to tulips: they continue growing even after being cut, so the stems will be 2 to 3cm taller after a day in the vase. This is normal. Vase life after delivery is typically 5 to 7 days. Care routine: re-cut stems, change water every 2 days, no direct aircon or sunlight.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are tulips available year-round in Singapore?

Yes, through our Dutch import suppliers. Stock varies week to week depending on European shipment schedules. For guaranteed availability on a specific date, order 3 to 5 days in advance. Peak Dutch tulip season is March to May, when we have the widest variety and best prices. Off-season tulips are still available but slightly more limited in colour selection.

What does a tulip bouquet symbolise?

Soft romantic love, perfect love (the Persian tradition), elegance, and rebirth (associated with spring). Tulips are the gentler romantic flower compared to roses, suitable for early-stage relationships, soft anniversaries, friendship gestures, and modern minimalist gifting where the heavy symbolism of red roses would feel mismatched.

What is the most popular tulip colour in Singapore?

Soft pink is the most-ordered tulip colour, followed by white (modern minimalist) and yellow (friendship and warmth). Red tulips work but are less common than red roses for romantic gestures because tulips are the softer alternative. Multi-tone parrot tulips are popular in the spring season (March to May) for their dramatic ruffled appearance.

How long do tulips last in Singapore humidity?

5 to 7 days with proper care. Tulips are slightly more delicate than roses or carnations because of their open cup-shaped petals. Care routine: re-cut stems, change water every 2 days, keep out of direct sunlight and strong aircon. One quirk: tulips continue growing after being cut, so the stems will be 2 to 3cm taller after a day in the vase. This is normal.

Are tulips a good first date flower?

Yes, they are one of our top-recommended first date bouquets. Tulips read playful and warm rather than romantic-intense, the size is proportionate (not awkward to carry on the MRT), and the price point is comfortable. See our first date flowers collection for more first-date options including small posy formats.
