How we coordinate maternity ward deliveries

Maternity wards have specific protocols we have learned over decades of hospital gift delivery. Most Singapore maternity hospitals restrict visitor access to immediate family in the first 24 hours, so if the baby has only just been delivered we coordinate the hamper drop-off directly with the ward reception rather than ambushing the mum in her recovery room. We ask for the mother's full name, the expected bed number, the ward name (for example, KKH Level 7, Ward 72, Bed 3), and the baby's delivery time if known. Our driver calls the ward 30 minutes before arrival to confirm the mum is available to receive the hamper. If the mum has discharged early or moved to another ward, we adjust on the fly. For home deliveries after discharge, we follow the standard islandwide same-day schedule.
