Live orchid plants for long-lasting indoor decor and corporate gifts
Live orchid plants are the long-game version of cut flower gifting. Unlike a cut bouquet that lasts 1 to 4 weeks, a healthy live orchid plant can flower for 3 to 6 months at a time and re-flower every 1 to 2 years for many years. The Singapore Florist studio has been stocking live orchid plants since 1987, sourcing from Singapore commercial growers and Malaysian and Thai farms. They are one of our most-ordered corporate gifts for senior executives, office openings, and recipients who appreciate something they can keep alive and care for, rather than a fleeting bouquet.
The collection covers the most-popular indoor orchid species. Phalaenopsis (moth orchid) is the most common, with large flat blooms in white, pink, purple, yellow, and pattern variants, and a flowering period of 2 to 4 months per cycle. Dendrobium is a compact flowering plant with small densely packed blooms, popular for desks and bedside tables. Cymbidium is larger and more dramatic, typically used as a statement piece in corporate lobbies. Oncidium (the dancing lady orchid) features small yellow flowers on long arching sprays. Each species has a different care routine but all are well-suited to Singapore's tropical climate, which actually mirrors their natural growing conditions.
Pricing starts at SGD 88 for compact single-stem Phalaenopsis plants and reaches SGD 488 for premium multi-stem Cymbidium displays in keepsake ceramic pots. Most orders land in the SGD 128 to SGD 188 range. Every plant ships free islandwide, includes a care card with watering instructions, and arrives same-day for orders before 12pm. For single-event orchid hand-bouquets (cut, not potted), see our orchid hand bouquets collection. For mixed indoor plant arrangements, browse our wider gift catalogue. How to keep a live orchid plant blooming for months in Singapore homes
Live orchids are easier to keep alive in Singapore than most temperate-climate ornamentals because the local humidity and temperature mirror their natural tropical conditions. The biggest mistakes Singapore owners make are overwatering and direct sun exposure. Orchids need only a small amount of water once a week (the soak-and-drain method: pour water through the pot until it drains out the bottom, then let it dry completely before the next watering). They prefer bright indirect light (near a window but not in direct beams). They do NOT need fertiliser more than once a month during the flowering period, and even less during dormancy. Every plant in this collection arrives with a care card explaining the species-specific routine. Follow the routine and your plant will reflower every 1 to 2 years for many years.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long does a live orchid plant flower for in Singapore?
2 to 6 months per flowering cycle depending on the species. Phalaenopsis: 2 to 4 months. Dendrobium: 4 to 6 months. Cymbidium: 6 to 8 weeks per spike but multiple spikes through the year. After flowering, the plant enters a dormant period of several months before re-flowering. Healthy plants can re-flower every 1 to 2 years for 5 to 10 years.
What is the easiest orchid species to keep alive for a beginner?
Phalaenopsis (moth orchid) is the easiest by a wide margin. It needs minimal water (once a week), tolerates low light, and is forgiving of beginner mistakes. The next easiest is Dendrobium. Cymbidium is more demanding (needs cooler temperatures than Singapore typically offers, so it works best in air-conditioned rooms). For first-time orchid owners, always start with Phalaenopsis.
Can I order an orchid plant for a corporate office gift?
Yes, this is one of our most-ordered corporate gifts. Live orchid plants project sophistication and longevity, which is ideal for senior executive recipients and office launches. For multi-recipient corporate dispatches (5 or more plants to different addresses), the corporate flowers page offers a 10 percent bulk discount.
Do live orchid plants come in a decorative pot, or just plastic nursery pots?
Decorative ceramic or wooden pots, depending on the price tier. Entry-tier plants (SGD 88 to SGD 128) come in ceramic pots in white, cream, or terracotta. Mid-tier (SGD 148 to SGD 248) come in upgraded ceramic or stoneware pots. Premium tier (SGD 288+) come in keepsake decorative pots with optional gift wrapping.
What if my orchid plant dies, do you offer a replacement?
If the plant arrives in poor condition (yellowed leaves, broken stems, dropped buds during shipping), WhatsApp us within 24 hours of delivery and we will replace it. For plants that die after a few weeks due to care issues at home, we cannot replace, but we can provide care advice and a discount code for a replacement plant.
