Orchid garlands for weddings, ceremonies, and welcome receptions

Orchid garlands are the ceremonial floral piece used in Hindu weddings (varmala exchange), temple offerings, welcome receptions for VIPs, and family blessing ceremonies. Each garland is hand-strung in our studio using fresh dendrobium or mokara orchid blooms, often paired with jasmine or rose buds for fragrance. Length, density, and colour are all customised to the ceremony.

Standard wedding varmala garlands are 36 to 42 inches long with dense purple or white dendrobium blooms, hand-strung with jasmine for fragrance. Welcome reception garlands are lighter (18 to 24 inches, single layer) for guest greetings. Temple offering garlands are typically all-white with marigolds for traditional Hindu rituals. We also build mixed-colour garlands for non-religious VIP welcomes, corporate events, and milestone family gatherings.

Pricing starts at SGD 48 per welcome reception garland and reaches SGD 280 per premium-density wedding varmala pair (the matched bride-and-groom set). Most orders sit in the SGD 88 to SGD 168 range. Order at least 3 working days in advance because each garland is hand-strung to the ceremony's specifications. For other Indian wedding florals (mandap florals, pillar arrangements), message the studio for a custom quote. For cut orchid stems on their own, see our cut orchids collection.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is an orchid garland used for in Indian weddings?

Orchid garlands are used in the varmala exchange ceremony, where the bride and groom exchange floral garlands as a symbolic gesture of acceptance and blessing. They are also worn by close family members during photo sessions and welcome rituals. Most Hindu Singapore weddings order one matched varmala pair plus 4 to 8 family garlands.

How long do fresh orchid garlands last?

12 to 24 hours at full freshness, with the orchid blooms holding up for the duration of a typical wedding day or evening reception. We deliver each garland the morning of the ceremony so it arrives at peak freshness. For longer-lasting versions, we offer preserved orchid garlands (3 to 6 months display) on request.

How much does an orchid garland cost in Singapore?

From SGD 48 per welcome reception garland to SGD 280 per premium-density wedding varmala pair. Most orders sit in the SGD 88 to SGD 168 range. Bulk discounts for 8+ garlands.

Can you customise orchid garlands with jasmine or specific colours?

Yes. Jasmine is the most-requested addition for fragrance and traditional symbolism. Specific colours (purple dendrobium, white phalaenopsis, two-tone Mokara) are matched to the ceremony's palette. Add the colour and the addition request in the order notes at checkout.

When should I order an orchid garland?

At least 3 working days in advance because each garland is hand-strung to specifications. For peak Hindu wedding seasons (Saturdays from May to August, December to February), order 5 to 7 days ahead because demand spikes.
