How we balance the colour transitions in a pastel rose bouquet

Building a pastel rose bouquet that holds together visually is harder than it looks. Because the tones are subtle and similar, an inattentive arranger can end up with a flat, undifferentiated bouquet that lacks visual depth. Our approach is the colour transition method: we sort the stems into three or four micro-tones (for example, deep blush, soft blush, cream, and ivory) and arrange them in concentric layers from the centre outward, with the deepest tone in the centre and the palest at the edge. This creates a subtle gradient from heart to perimeter that catches light and gives the bouquet a sense of depth even in a single colour family. Every pastel bouquet is built by a senior arranger (not rotation) because the colour balance requires experience that newer florists tend to over-correct on.
