Pet-friendly flowers: cat-safe and dog-safe bouquets for Singapore homes

If your recipient has a cat or dog, sending the wrong flowers can land them in the emergency vet within hours. Lilies are notoriously toxic to cats (a single petal can cause kidney failure), tulips are toxic to dogs and cats, and many other common florist flowers carry varying levels of toxicity. The Singapore Florist studio built this pet-friendly collection because we kept getting customers asking specifically for cat-safe and dog-safe arrangements after horror stories about lily toxicity. Every flower in this collection has been verified safe for cats and dogs based on the ASPCA toxic plant database and Singapore veterinary guidance.

Pet-safe flowers we stock include roses (yes, all roses are pet-safe, the thorns are the only concern), sunflowers, snapdragons, gerbera daisies, marigolds, freesia, orchids (Phalaenopsis and Mokara are both safe), zinnias, asters, alstroemeria, statice, and various pet-safe greenery fillers. We deliberately exclude all lily species, all tulips, daffodils, hyacinths, baby's breath (mildly toxic to pets in large quantities), chrysanthemums (mildly toxic), and several other common florist flowers from this collection. The result is a curated set of bouquets you can send to any pet owner in Singapore without worrying about an emergency vet bill.

Pricing starts at SGD 78 for the small posy and reaches SGD 288 for the premium pet-safe arrangement in a keepsake vase. Most orders land in the SGD 88 to SGD 138 range. Every bouquet ships free islandwide, includes a handwritten card and a pet-safe verification badge, and arrives same-day for orders before 12pm. For non-pet-safe rose bouquets at lower prices (still safe if displayed where the pet cannot reach), see our standard rose collection. For other pet-friendly gift options, see our luxury hampers collection with pet-safe gourmet selections. How we verify every stem in this collection against toxic plant databases

Pet-safe flower curation is more rigorous than our other collections because the stakes are higher. We cross-reference every flower in this collection against three sources: the ASPCA toxic plant database (the global standard for pet toxicity), the Singapore veterinary association's flower advisory list, and the consultations of two Singapore vet practices we work with for verification. If a flower appears in any of these as toxic or even mildly questionable for cats or dogs, it does not enter this collection. We re-verify the list quarterly because veterinary research occasionally updates toxicity findings. Every bouquet in this collection comes with a small verification card listing the specific flowers and confirming pet-safe status. If you have a recipient with a specific allergy or a less common pet (rabbit, bird, hamster), WhatsApp us with the pet type and we will recommend a custom bouquet.

Frequently Asked Questions

What common florist flowers are toxic to cats?

The most dangerous: ALL lily species (true lilies, day lilies, tiger lilies, Easter lilies, even a single petal can cause acute kidney failure in cats). Also toxic: tulips, daffodils, hyacinths, chrysanthemums, baby's breath (mildly), and sago palm. Pollen on a cat's fur that is then licked off can also cause poisoning. If a cat lives in the home, NEVER send lilies.

Are roses safe for cats and dogs?

Yes, all roses (red, white, pink, yellow, etc.) are non-toxic to cats and dogs. The only concern is the thorns, which can scratch curious pets. We can supply de-thorned roses on request. Roses are the safest mainstream florist flower for pet owners.

What should I do if my pet eats a flower from a bouquet?

Identify the flower immediately and call your vet or the SPCA Singapore emergency line (6287 5355). For lily exposure in cats, treat as an emergency and go to the vet within 6 hours. For most other flower exposures, monitor for vomiting, lethargy, or unusual behaviour and call the vet if symptoms appear.

Do you guarantee that bouquets in this collection are 100 percent safe for pets?

We verify against ASPCA, Singapore veterinary advisory, and two vet practice consultations. To our knowledge every flower in this collection is non-toxic to cats and dogs. However, individual pets can have unusual reactions and we cannot guarantee against allergies or sensitivities specific to your pet. If your pet has a known plant allergy, consult your vet before ordering.

Can I order a pet-safe bouquet for a specific pet type like a rabbit or bird?

Yes. Rabbits, birds, hamsters, and other small pets have different toxicity profiles. WhatsApp us with the pet species and we will recommend a custom bouquet verified safe for that animal. Most rabbit-safe options exclude additional flowers from the cat/dog list.
