Blue flower bouquets, the unusual colour for the unconventional gift
Blue is the rarest natural flower colour in the world. Most flowers that look blue are actually purple or violet under colour analysis, and the few genuinely blue flowers (delphiniums, hydrangeas, anemones, irises, cornflowers) require specific growing conditions. The Singapore Florist studio sources blue flowers from Dutch and European growers for the natural blue varieties, and we hand-tint white roses with food-safe blue dye for the popular blue rose category. Blue bouquets are the right choice for recipients who appreciate the unusual, for grand-gesture gifts where you want something distinctly different from red, and for modern minimalist aesthetic gifting.
This collection includes the full blue flower range we stock. Hydrangeas (the most-ordered natural blue flower, with large round blooms in pale to deep blue) are popular for elegant home decor and modern bouquets. Delphiniums (tall spike flowers in vivid blue) are dramatic and architectural. Irises (delicate European blooms in deep blue and pale blue) are elegant and romantic. Cornflowers (small wildflower-style blue blooms) work for rustic and casual aesthetics. And our hand-tinted blue roses, which are real white roses we tint by hand with food-grade dye, are the most-requested non-natural option.
Pricing starts at SGD 98 for the small blue posy and reaches SGD 488 for the premium blue rose box arrangement. Most blue bouquet orders land in the SGD 138 to SGD 218 range. Every order ships free islandwide, includes a handwritten card, and arrives same-day for orders before 12pm if the specific flowers are in stock that morning (some blue flowers are imported and have weekly stock cycles). For blue-rose specific arrangements, see our blue roses collection. For other unusual flower colours, browse the purple roses collection. How we hand-tint blue roses to achieve the deep sapphire colour
Real blue roses do not exist in nature. Despite decades of botanical research, no rose breeder has produced a stable naturally-blue rose cultivar. The blue roses you see in this collection are real white Ecuadorian roses that we tint by hand using food-safe florist dye absorbed through the stem over 24 to 48 hours. The process: we cut the white rose stems at a 45-degree angle, place them in a vase of cool water mixed with blue florist dye concentrate, and let the rose draw the dye up through its vascular system. Over the next day or two, the petals slowly turn blue from the inside out. Once the colour saturates, we rinse the stems, re-cut them, and move them to fresh nutrient water until they are arranged. The dye sets permanently and will not rub off on hands, clothing, or vases. The colour holds for the entire 5 to 7 day vase life of the rose. Read more on our blue roses collection page.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are there any naturally blue flowers in your collection?
Yes. Hydrangeas (large round blooms in pale to deep blue), delphiniums (tall spike flowers in vivid blue), irises (elegant European blooms in deep blue), and cornflowers (small wildflower blue) are all naturally blue. Our blue roses are NOT naturally blue, they are hand-tinted from real white roses.
Why do you tint blue roses by hand instead of growing naturally blue roses?
Because no naturally blue rose exists. Despite decades of botanical research and several genetic engineering attempts, no breeder has produced a stable naturally-blue rose cultivar. The blue rose category in the global florist market is universally hand-tinted from white roses using food-safe florist dye.
Will the blue dye on tinted roses stain hands or clothing?
No. Once the dye has set into the petal (within hours of tinting), it does not rub off. The petals are safe to touch and will not stain hands, clothing, or the vase. If you spill fresh cut water on fabric, a quick rinse handles any light residue.
What does the colour blue symbolise in flower gifting?
Mystery, the unattainable, rare love, calmness, and serenity. Blue flowers (especially blue roses) traditionally symbolise the love that is hard to find or cannot be reached. They are the romantic gesture for unconventional partners or for gestures that need to feel distinctly different from the standard red-rose script.
Can I order a blue flower bouquet for a wedding?
Yes, blue bouquets have grown in popularity for modern weddings since 2020, especially for brides wanting an unconventional palette. Hydrangeas in pale blue work beautifully for garden weddings. Hand-tinted blue roses make a striking bridal bouquet for modern minimalist ceremonies. See our bridal bouquets collection or use the wedding decor service for full custom quotes.
